I am SO excited to be having a reunion and hope most people from our class show up. And yes...I feel OLD too. It'll be great to see everyone. I also hope everyone has gained as much weight as I have - lol!!
I was wondering if you might list the names of our classmates who have passed away. Some of us have not heard about that and would like to know.

I love seeing all of the photos of your beautiful faces! So many of us were together from K-12th and I look forward to hearing all about your lives and the experiences you've had. I know it will be an emotional event. I hope no one feels shy or uncomfortable about saying hello to a bunch of old friends!!!! Be safe and hope to see you all soon. Tracy

Now that my children are nearing high school age (Oh my God, I am getting old!), I often think back to high school. At the time, I couldn't wait to get out of school (funny that I'm a teacher now too), now how I wish those times were back! It will be great to remember old times again with others that were there.
Everyone that submitted pictures looked great; however, there were two faces I couldn't match! Who is who?
I was also wondering like Daisy, of what classmates have passed away. It was a shock to read that any had passed away!

My thanks to Becky and all else that was involved in making this reunion a reality.
Come on Billy ---no better pictures than that of me!!! lol

Wow! You guys have done a GREAT job with the web-site. Thanks for putting this all together, I look forward to seeing everyone again.
Here are a couple of people I have seen in the past couple of years.
Savoy Parrish - Working at the UPS store infront of Staples on Abercorn Street in December of last year.
Brenda Ray - Working at Beavers accross from the Groves campus about 2 years ago, she has been there for many years so she may still be there.
Amanda (Snipes) Kessler - Is currently Vice-principle of South Effingham Middle School.
Hope this info helps, I see Amanda quite often but rarely go to the other two stores anymore. Let me know if you want me to try and contact them via phone at work.

Hey this is Gr8!!! Look forward to seeing everyone...Man, can you believe it's been 20 years? I'm married(2nd) and have two wonderful boys--21months and 8 months. As a middle School Band Director, it's kinda funny when I can say to a student, "you know I went to school with your parents." To Tammie (Bryant) let me say, "Semper Fi, Do or Die."
Albert Smith is a minister with Real Life Christian Fellowship.
Tracy(Green)Brown and Susan Mingeldorff work in the school system.
Look forward to seeing you all...

Just wanted to let you know the scoop I got. I ran into Karen Walea Saturday night after the meeting. She says you can contact her at Karen.Walea@Savannah.Chatham.K12.ga.us for any questions you may have. She said they have Saturday school every other weekend until noon. Her cell is 663-4702. They(class of 89)are having their reunion at the Mighty 8th. You pay $1300 to use it and pay for catering and linens on top of that. The contact person is Susan Eismen. I will let you know how my sisters reception goes at the Holiday Inn in Pooler next weekend. I think for 200people she's paying around $3700 for everything: room rental, catering, bartender, linens, etc. It was great seeing everyone today. Take care. Ciao,Janet

Hello Peoples,
It is so great to see everyone's post. My mind just went back to some great memories. I'm currently living in Daphne, AL with my wife and 2 girls (11 and 8 years of age), working as a Loss Control Administrator for Enterprise Rent-a-Car in Pensacola, FL, and serve as a Youth Pastor in Mobile, AL at Living Water Baptist Church. As you can see I'm constantly on the road.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, a Master's in Instructional Technology from Valdosta State University. I am also a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc.
I published my first book of Poetry in 2004(Inspirations from B.C. to A.D.: A Life Saved By Grace) and is working on another book and CD (Poetic Trinity: The Word, The Line, The Verse). Hopefully it will be ready in 2009. I also just started a Real Estate investing business. There is definitely a lot on my plate but my passion is my family and ministry.
I am going to do my best to make it to the reunion. I would love to see all of you again, but if I don't get there my prayers are with you all. Lord Bless

Hello everyone! I am looking forward to seeing everybody and catching up. It seems as though we all moved on to other places. I live in Register which is right outside of Statesboro. WOW! 20 years have really gone fast. This is a great website that you guys have done. I have really enjoyed seeing what everyone has been up to over the last 20 years. I will be celebrating my 20th wedding anniversary to Paul in April. We have one daughter(sydney age 10) I work for Emergency Medical Service and I have been a Paramedic for the last 17 years. Just a little update on Paul. He retired from Savannah Electric after 16 years as a lineman and went to seminary. He has His Master's in Theology and Biblical studies. He is serving as a Senior Pastor in Hardeeville, SC. We still live in Pooler. Anyway, enough about me! Can't wait to see everyone!

Keep the comments coming! It's great hearing from everyone. I've been married for 16 years, and have two boys 15 and 12 years old. I have four semesters left and I will have my Bachelor's. I'm a maintenance manager for Georgia Ports Authority.
I have several questions……
Where are all the loud mouths in the class? Howie, Jason, Toby, etc.
Where are all the girls with the big Hair? Tammy, Susan, Amy, Nichole, etc.
Where are all the pot smokers? (No names here since we all now have kids who can read)
Regular smokers?
Jocks?
These classmates seem to be missing. My email address is mrabon45@hotmail.com. I look forward to hearing from everyone!

Wow! It is so funny to think back through the years to high school and just to see all the names I haven’t seen in years. First, I want to say thanks to all the people who are working hard to put this reunion together and make it successful. I also want to say hello to all my fellow classmates wherever you may be. I hope you are all doing well. I really don’t know how to start talking about the last 20 years of my life. After graduation, I lived in Savannah for a few years then moved to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina where I worked as a musician playing drums in the house band at the Hilton Resort Hotel. After three years of living in S.C., in 1995 I set out for Nashville to continue building on my music career. While there I decided to go back to college and finish my bachelor’s degree I’d begun earlier. It was there that I met the most incredible woman in my life who years later, became my wife and gave me four sweet children. Two boys and two girls and there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t thank the Lord for each of them. After graduating from Belmont University in 1998, I decided I wanted to serve the greatest country on earth and so I joined the Army. I worked in the Nashville business scene for several years including an artist management company. There I was fortunate enough to work with some very talented people among them John Michael Montgomery. I worked with John on his last record with Warner Brothers called “Letters from Home.” The single “Letters from Home” went to number 2 in the charts (but we got knocked out by Gretchen Wilson’s “Redneck Woman”) and all was going great when I got the call to deploy. My reserve unit was going to Iraq. I deployed for 18 months in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom working as a Military Intelligence Officer in Northern Iraq. I returned home to Tennessee in November 05 and back to business serving in the Army part-time as a reservist. Today, I am a Captain with 10 years in the Army and a Commander for a Signal Network Support Company. My job is, to install, operate and maintain a Satellite based communications system. My 10 years of service has been something that I have enjoyed and I commend the others from our class who are serving or have served. Like some of you, I too have been working on my advanced degree and will complete my M.B.A. in September of this year. I am training at Ft. Gordon, GA until June and then its Ft. Polk, LA before we depart for another all expenses paid middle-eastern vacation. I am o.k. with this and believe the U.S. must go after these radicals who threaten our security and way of life. But ask that each of you pray for our country and our leaders and may God bless each of you that serve because I know it’s hard and requires sacrifices of you and your families. Most likely, I will not be able to attend the event but thank you for contacting me and wish everyone the very best. If any of you would like to contact me, you can do so at stacy.graham@us.army.mil Take care and may God bless! stacy
What an incredilbe heartfelt message and update. We thank you for your service as well and will miss you at the reunion. Stay strong and may the Lord richly bless and take care of you while you are over there.
Would love some updated pictures of you and anyone reading this to add to our photo gallery!
Sincerely, Groves Class of 88

Hey everyone. Well, I realized on my last post that I did not say much about what I am up to, so here it goes.
I have been married for a little over 15 years. I am sure that all of you are surprised but I did find someone to put up with me. And yes she is normal, I tricked her!!! We have two boys; Wyatt is 12, Jared is 9. They are a handful; they act just like their mother. We live in Rincon with all the other Groves alumni. I joined the Georgia Air National Guard shortly after graduation and spent 18 years as a traditional guardsman and firefighter. In 2006, I left the Savannah Fire Dept after 15 years and working my way up to Captain. I then changed career fields and became an Active Duty member of the Air National Guard, serving as the Emergency Manager for the 165th Airlift Wing in Savannah. As you can tell, I never grew up. I have always been a big child and always will.
I can’t wait to see everyone at the reunion. The years have flown by.
Finally, Shalan is that a beer in front of you at the last planning meeting? Good Lord, it was only 1100!!!!!

It's hard to think it was 20 years ago, Friday night football games and the Krystal's, ha ha. It's really great to see and hear about everybody. I've been up to all kinds of things since high school but I'd have to say my best acheivement is marrying my husband and having our two girls. I've been working in the real estate business for 10 years, currently practicing commercial and industrial real estate in Savannah. I'm an avid outdoorswoman with my husband. I'd say most of our time is spent either in the woods hunting or on the water fishing. I have become a huntress and it's a blast! Can't wait to hear about everyone.
Angela A., I've been coloring my hair too, but they keep popping up!
Mike R., you're so funny. I still have you're jacket.......
I would love to hear from any of you!

OK everyone... it's time for us to go on the offensive. There are only 43 of us that have signed up for this shin-dig. What's with that?
There were 200+ of us that graduated together. I know that there are a few that are no longer with us, there are certainly those that are in the military and can't make it, a few that are probably in jail (don't give me that, you were thinking it too), some that have long fallen out of touch, some that have landed on hard times, etc., etc. But 200 people??
Everyone go to the registration tab at the top and click on the "who's coming" link. There are 183 names in the right-hand list that have not responded. If you know their whereabouts, pick up the phone or send them an e-mail and encourage them to come.
Where are these folks and why aren't they coming? How about Melissa Cates? Howie Redding? Jason Reddick? Claude Robinson? Tammy Tuten? Amanda Snipes? Bobby Harvey and Stephanie Barnes (who are married to each other, btw)? Victor Baxter? Jason Zettler? Sonya Howard? Lisa Woods? Glenda Cody? Danny Green? Tony Jackson? Harold Hagood? Trey Davis? Tammie Bryant? All of these people (plus 150 more) are collectively part of who we all are individually and it would be nice to see them... well some of them anyway :-)
We do this once every decade and we are not getting any younger... as Angela and Tina and Selena so eloquently pointed out... so let's see if we can put on a last minute push to at least double the number of people coming.
BTW... if I can help or if you want to just say hello, my e-mail is poneal920@yahoo.com.
p.s. To Victor Baxter... if you are reading this... I'll buy and read your book if you will come.

Well to start off, I have to say I am sorry because I posted a short bio and thought it posted. I just skipped over to read the new posts and didn't catch that my original post did not appear. My BAD. Also, I want to add this, DO NOT MISS ANY REUNION MEETINGS, they elect you as the Co-Chairman of the Committee!!! On a serious note, I am glad to be a part of the Planning Committee and we have a GREAT group of Classmates working HARD on this event!! A little about me, I am the world traveler and went ALL the way to Georgia Southern for college and then came back to start a career here in Savannah. I have been with then SPD and now SCMPD for 14 years. I am a full time Instructor in the Training Unit and deal mostly with the Rookies!! I married a Pooler Girl (Leslie) and we have two boys, 8 & 6. And yes, I spend many Saturdays and week nights at Pooler Park as they have followed in their father's footsteps as Pooler Packers. GO FIGURE! Well enough about me, I just hope I get to see all of you at the Reunion!!! If you have any comments or just want to chat, email me at Chrish404@yahoo.com
PS> Contrary to what was said at the last meeting, I WILL NOT BE ATTENDING THE LUAU IN JUST A GRASS SKIRT AND TWO COCONUTS!!!!!

Hi everyone. Boy, I am really homesick now. Reading about everyone has been so great. I will be so sad if I'm not able to make it home for the reunion. I did what I said I would never do, married a military man. Troy is in the AirForce and we've been married for almost 11 years. We have two crazy kids, Carolyne 8 and Davin 4. I worked at Memorial as a nurse for 11 years mostly in L&D which I miss terribly. We moved to Italy in 2004 and lived there for 4 years. I now have lived in Wiesbaden, Germany since last April. I've been on facebook finding everyone over the past few weeks so it's really making me miss home. It's nice to see what people are up to. And to my friend Selena, thanks, glad I could make you smile. Ciao for now!!!!

Chris Hinson....you have been put on notice! If we have to ambush you, you WILL be wearing that grass skirt AND those coconuts! Besides, I've already bought them! And no amount of police training is going to protect you......

Kim, No one will be able to sleep with that image in their head. That is enough to make you sick. I think I just threw up a little in the back of my mouth.

Hi All, I wanted to make sure that everyone is getting as excited as the reunion planning committee about the upcoming celebration we are going to have. While you’re choosing your wardrobe, getting haircuts, manicures, & pedicures, and trying to convince your spouse that they are going to have so much fun! WE’RE STILL ACCEPTING REGISTRATIONS! Yeah yeah yeah we have past the cut off date and yes official registration closed some time ago but we've had a few cancelations so we're trying to fill those spots. I've spoke with the caterer and they've allowed us to place an additional dinner meal order as late as Tuesday, March 31st. So please reserve your spot now. Mail your check or submit your PayPal payment ASAP. We've opened the Paypal up for just a few more days. Before sending your payment, please RSVP at either grovesclassof88@yahoo.com or 904-751-0788 and tell us how many adults & children will be attending which events.

EXPANDED PHOTO CALL! In addition to the slideshow of photos from our school days, we're creating a display of present-day pictures. Pick your favorite 2 digital pics of you and your family and e-mail them to grovesclassof88@yahoo.com We'll include these photos in our slideshow. If you can't attend the reuion this it a great way to share with your classmates the photos of your family. YOU NEED NOT BE IN ATTENDANCE TO BE INCLUDED! Only 2 shots per classmate, please, as space is limited.
MEMORY BOOKS/CLASS DIRECTORY: Many of you have prepaid for your memory books, but don't be alarmed if you have not yet ordered yours. You will be able to purchase them at the reunion. If you are not attending and would like a copy email the committee at grovesclassof88@yahoo.com and we will see to it that you have an opportunity to purchase one as well. The books will not only include directory information but photos of the picnic and night event as well. This publication will be used for getting in touch with all of you for future events that our class plans so we are hoping to include everyones information. If you have not submitted your contact information please do so at this time. If you would like to be omitted from the directory, please let us know that as well.
Again we hope that you are all excited! We should be sending something out soon about the details of the reunion soon. But when all else fails come back to the website and click above on Reunion Details. For those of you traveling from from out of town, Drive Safe!
